St. Joseph's Boys Compete at Abbey CBS Indoor Tournament

This week, seventeen boys from our Primary 6 and Primary 7 classes travelled to Newry to take part in an indoor football blitz organised by the Abbey CBS.

To begin, the children played in several non-competitive games with everyone getting lots of playing time.

After these initial games, a panel of eight boys then had to play a series of competitive games to see who would progress to the final. Our boys really rose to the challenge. With an abundance of skill, determination and teamwork, we managed to win the final game against a spirited team from St. Patrick's, The Meadow, Newry. As such, our team qualified for the finals of the competition in a few weeks time.

A huge thanks must go to Mr. McKernan and to the Abbey CBS for organising such an enjoyable morning of football.

Well done boys! This is a terrific achievement.
