Reception Class enjoyed a wonderful trip to Castlewellan Forest Park. We built homes for minibeasts in the woods and made a leaf line full of a variety of leaves.We searched for minibeasts using sweep nets, used binoculars to take a closer look at birds, listened to and identified birdsong.
In our classroom we’ve been learning about the lifecycle of butterflies and have observed live caterpillars grow and change into butterflies. It’s been a fascinating experience! We carefully released our Painted Ladies and watched them fly away.
