Outdoor Play in P2

27th May 2025

The boys and girls in Primary Two are having a ball learning outdoors in the nicer weather. We have been writing tiny letters to the fairies, experimenting with ice, fruit and coloured water to make refreshing drinks and building amazing dens. The sand pit is always popular and we have to count the children at the end of play to ensure we haven’t lost one down a tunnel! We can’t wait to see our sweet pea plants when they start to flower and we are glad of the rain to give us a break from the watering!

This morning, Elliot asked if we could have a concert during outdoor play. There was great excitement and so many brilliant learning opportunities that stemmed from this idea! The children numbered the seats and, when they paid their entry, they were allocated a seat number and names were recorded on a clipboard. The children who were playing at the mud kitchen decided to serve drinks at the interval and the show was a sellout!

Meanwhile, a brilliant den was constructed that managed to withstand a blustery morning and the children in the sand pit finally managed to get a tunnel and had great fun filling it with buckets of water!

We hope you enjoy watching these videos that capture the fun we are having as we learn!
