Matilda climbed Slieve Donard during the summer to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
At the beginning of the year Matilda challenged herself to climb Slieve Donard before her 8th birthday and began training with her dad Ryan, climbing the Mournes on a weekly basis. A few months in Matilda heard that a group from Newcastle were climbing Donard to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and asked to get involved. The group climbed the mountain on July 9th and raised over £2000 for the charity.
Well done Matilda, that is a super achievement. You should be very proud of yourself, we certainly are proud of you.
