St Josephs Primary School Carnacavill

Assembly 24.6.26

24th Jun 2026

Today we had our last assembly for the school year.

Joan from Daisy Lodge visited the school today to be presented with a cheque. We raised £408 during our recent Hats and Shades day. Joan explained the children where the money will be used and how important this money is to the charity. Well done to everyone who took part and helped raise funds for a well deserved organisation.

As usual, we had a lot of achievements to celebrate from outside of school.

In sports, we had a number of boys who presented their Kick Boxing awards and belts. Our gymnasts presented the certificates for reaching level 3. Ollie from Primary 6 presented us with his running medal. Clara from Primary 5 presented us with her Irish Dancing awards. Well done to you all!

Our musicians Rose from Primary 5 and Noah From Primary 4 took part in a competition at the weekend. They played the fiddle and the cello and were placed on the day. They presented us with their certificates and medals. Lucy, Noah and Elise from Primary 5 took part in a Speech and Drama competition at St. Louis’ Grammar School and told us all about the day. Well done!

Clara and Rose from Primary 5 both entered art competitions in school. Clara entered the Peace Maze art competition for Castlewellan Forest Park. She was placed 3rd and her prize was a beautiful book written and illustrated by local author Francis Morgan. Rose took part in an art competition for NI water. Rose came 2nd place out of 1500 entries! Anna from NI Water presented Rose with her award today. Well done to both girls!

We celebrated our final group of Stars of The Week for this school year. Well done to you all!

Birthdays this week are Isla in P1, Tiernan in P4, Archie, Oliver and Amy in P6. We also acknowledged our July birthdays who will be celebrating during their summer holidays. Happy birthday to you all!
